José Antonio holds a Higher Diploma in Civil Navigation and Sea Studies (Laguna University, Tenerife, 2002) which, after further study, was converted into an honours degree in Seamanship and Maritime Transportation (University of Basque Country, 2005). He also holds a B.A. in Law and a Masters in Management of Marine & Port Companies from the University of Deusto (2007). In 2008 José gained a Masters in Maritime Law from the University of Oslo, Norway.
José Antonio is a qualified First Officer. He did his training at Acciona Trasmediterranea S.A. and Fred Olsen S.A. (2002-2005). In 2008 José Antonio completed all the professional training required by the ITCW Convention for seafarers. He has worked on several recreational craft companies carrying out various roles including registration and legal advisor.
Jose Antonio joined Meana Green Maura & Co. in July 2008, where he specialises in wet law, cargo claims and yachting. He is also co-author of the Spanish Chapter for the forthcoming publication “Shipping and International Guide” edited by David Lucas of Hill Dickinson, date of publication April 2011.
